Idolising Nova are a 3-piece indie pop band from Peterborough, UK. The band is formed of Jack Fulton Smith (bass & lead vocals), Kris Lee (guitar & keyboard) and Kyle O’Sullivan (drums & backing vocals).
Since forming in 2016 their music has been played on BBC Radio 2, Radio X, ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Kerrang! Radio, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire and more!
The band have also performed live on Janice Long’s show on BBC Radio Wales, they’ve performed at the BBC Broadcasting House and they’ve done numerous interviews and live sessions for BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire.
Alex Baker from Kerrang Radio said “I came across these guys a few weeks ago and I’ve just fallen in love with them! They are writing sick, timeless tunes and it’s very exciting”.
As well as radio, Idolising Nova’s music has been played in shops, gyms & restaurants all around the UK including Accessorize, Monsoon, Dunelm, McDonald’s, Carphone Warehouse, Butlins, Virgin Active, Bella Italia and more.
Idolising Nova take pride in being a good live band, with their aim being that people leave a gig feeling like they have watched a show, rather than simply watched the band play their songs. This is reflected in the crowd interaction and stage presence at shows, as well as big intros and extended versions of their songs.
“Idolising Nova have made themselves a name as a captivating live act” – Indie Is Not a Genre
In July 2018, Idolising Nova joined the United Talent Agency roster under Nikos Kazoleas. Live shows of note include supporting The Vamps on their Night And Day Tour in Amsterdam, Paris & Cologne, 3 sold-out hometown shows, slots at La French Escapade in Paris, Hit The North in Newcastle and the main stage at 110 Above (2019), a headline slot on The Saloon Stage at Y Not Festival (2018), and regular shows all over the UK with touring bands/artists.
2020 has been a challenging year with no live shows, but the band have still been active and have released two singles so far this year (Stuck In Your Mind & Set The World On Fire) with both being streamed over 100,000 times on Spotify, as well as being added to official Spotify editorial playlists. The music videos for these singles have also had over 200,000 views combined on YouTube.
